Chili (Dad’s)

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1cup diced onion
2 Tablespoons minced garlic
2 c fresh tomatoes
8 oz tomato sauce
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 Tablespoon cummin
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
2 cans (15 oz) Brooks Mild chili beans

Directions
Brown ground beef.
Add into pot with other ingredients.
Heat.
Eat.

Notes
I hate recipes that call for a name brand of something, but if you can find Brooks beans they really do make a difference. I make the following substitutions regularly: pork for beef, 1 large can of diced tomatoes for the fresh tomatoes, and garlic powder for the minced garlic and garlic salt. For an extra kick add a touch more cummin, not chili powder. Cook half of onions with meat for a bit more flavor.
