Lasagna (Mom’s)

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
3/4 C chopped onion
1 clove garlic
1 Can whole tomatoes
1 Can tomato sauce
2 Tbsp sugar
2 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp basil
3 Tbsp parsley
8 oz lasagna noodles
3/4 lb mozzerella
3 c cottage cheese
1/2 C Parmesan
1 tsp oregano

Directions

Brown beef & drain.
Saute onion & garlic with beef mixture.
In seperate pot, combine and cook tomatoes, tomato sauce, sugar, 1 tsp salt, and 2 Tbsp parsley.
Combine meat and sauce mixture and keep warm.
In seperate bowl, mix cottage cheese, parmesan, oregano, remaining 1 Tbsp parsley & remaining 1 1/2 tsp salt.
Boil noodles.
In 9x13 baking dish, put very small amount of sauce to just coat bottom of pan.
Layer: 1/3 noodles, 1/3 meat, 1/3 cottage cheese mixture, 1/3 mozzarella.
Repeat layers twice more.
Bake @ 350 until heated through and bubbly.
