Corn Fritters (1)


Ingredients
1 Cup sifted all purpose-flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white sugar
2 cups whole kernel corn
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon shortening, melted
1/2 cup milk
3 cups vegetable oil

Directions
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Stir the corn kernels into the dry mixture
In a separate mixing bowl, beat egg, melted shortening and milk together.
Pour the wet mixture into the dry and stir until blended.
Heat oil in a heavy pot or deep fryer to 365 degrees F
Drop spoonfuls of the fritter batter into the hot oil and fry until golden; drain on paper towels.

Notes
Dunk in French Dressing.
